Silk joins Logistics Park

Warehousing and logistics business Silk Contract has taken up a four-hectare lot at the Roe Highway Logistics Park, with plans to construct a 21,000 square metre warehouse.

Victoria-based Silk has signed an undisclosed long-term lease, with occupancy scheduled for early 2020.

The Roe Highway Logistics Park is a 56ha industrial estate developed by a consortium comprising Linc Property, Gibb Group and Minderoo Group, and is located adjacent to the state government’s Kenwick rail freight facility.

The logistics park was launched in February with over 50 per cent of the site committed or under negotiation, according to Linc.

In addition to Silk, major tenants include Northline, BP Australia, Brady Corporation, Expro, K-Trans WA, Joest, FUWA, K-Hitch and Ideal Sales.        

Linc Property director Ben Lisle said it was expected the park would be fully committed within the next six to nine months, amid continued demand for quality warehousing and distribution premises                           

“With direct rail access and connectivity to major arterial roads, Roe Highway Logistics Park is a highly unique opportunity that buyers and tenants won’t see again for decades,” he said.
