Ron Scott, a builder with six decades’ service to industry – including nearly fifty years with the same company – has been honoured by the Master Builders Association of WA. Mr Scott, who still works as a consultant to WA builder, Jaxon Construction, was recognised for his contribution to public housing, remote region development and trade training. Scott trained as an apprentice carpenter in the 1940s and qualified as a registered builder in 1953. He joined Jaxon Construction in 1958 and celebrates his forty-seventh anniversary in August. He was presented with the 2005 Master Builders Robert Law Award at a dinner for industry executives on August 17. The award, named after the Association’s first president in 1898, is open to individuals and organisations and recognises exceptional service to the State’s building industry over a number of years.
