SBDC to link small business with WA graduates

A new Internet service will help match Western Australian small businesses with university graduates seeking opportunities to employ their skills and learning.

Small Business Minister John D'Orazio today launched the gradDIRECT service provided by the Small Business Development Corporation.

"This is a valuable opportunity for small businesses to find talent which will help grow their businesses," Mr D'Orazio said.

"Many small businesses have found that graduates have injected fresh ideas and expertise to their planning and operations.

"But identifying and making contact with suitable graduates is not always easy.

"This free service will let small business owners search a database of recent university graduates and students from WA's five universities.

"More than 350 graduates and students have already registered on gradDIRECT and are available to undertake full or part-time work, short-term placements, or paid or unpaid work experience.
