Treasurer Eric Ripper today announced that the 2007-08 State Budget would be delivered on Thursday, May 10.
Mr Ripper said the Budget would be financially responsible and would focus on investing in Western Australia's future.
The Treasurer said improving services continued to be the Government's top priority.
"The Carpenter Government is making decisions for the future," he said.
" We are working to ensure our strong economy is delivering better services for all Western Australians.
"The Budget will strike the right balance between service delivery, infrastructure, fair wages and tax cuts."
Mr Ripper said the Budget was being formulated in the context of the Commonwealth Grants Commission stripping WA of $1.2billion in GST payments over the next four years.
"I fear that our GST share will be cut even further as our economy continues to grow," he said.
The Treasurer said the Budget was expected to include a record investment in infrastructure.
