Re ‘Work Starts at West Perth’ in WA Business News May 5.
I would like to point out that the comment by City of Perth CEO, Frank Edwards, is erroneous.
At the time that the approval for this development was given in July 2003, the development was outside of the City Planning Scheme in a significant number of respects including plot ratio, set backs, dwelling density and car parking.
Thus, Mr Edwards is wrong when he states that the development complied with plot ratio and car parking requirements.
He fails to mention that the development also fails to comply with the set back requirements.
With reference to City of Perth Councillor Lisa Scaffidi, it seems that if she has her way, Perth will soon become a concrete jungle reminiscent of Kowloon in the 1970s. Is this the sort of city that the people of Perth want to have?
