WE support the State Opposition’s recent call for the Gallop Government to intervene in the strike by 140 construction workers who are attempting to cajole the employer of other construction workers on another project into paying these other workers an increased hourly rate.
Unions encouraging such contingent, or secondary, actions should be heavily fined and deregistered.
If there is a change in government at the next State election we look forward to a Coalition government intervening, joining with the Federal Government, and immediately introducing legislation to put an unequivocal end to the lunacy that currently masquerades as workplace relations in Western Australia, and the industrial relations systems in general.
The current antics and disruptions to projects are both outrageously costly and unbelievably childish.
When is the State Government going to get a backbone when it comes to outrageous union antics and so-called workplace relations?
