Queen’s Birthday confusion cleared

THE Department of Consumer and Employment Protection has received several inquires relating to the correct date for the 2004 Queen’s Birthday public holiday. This year the holiday is to be held on October 4.

Traditionally that holiday in Western Australia coincides with the Royal Show and the first week of term three school holidays.

Labour Relations executive director Jeff Radisich said some diaries and calendars had been incorrectly printed with September 27 as the date. "The department is unsure how this occurred, given the 2004 public holiday was proclaimed on May 28 and published in the Western Australian Government Gazette on June 4,” he said.
