QRSciences Holdings Ltd has broadened its reach in Australia after signing a distribution agreement with General Electric Security for its trace detection products.
QRS said the latest agreement complements an existing technology licensing agreement that both companies entered into in 2006.
Under the agreement QRS will represent GE Security's trace detection product range in all markets in Australia and New Zealand including aviation.
GE Security trace products are the market leader in all airports in Australia and are the product of choice globally for many border security applications for the detection of explosives and narcotics.
QRS said it is hoping to extend the agreement to include additional GE Security products over time.
"GE Security is part of the General Electric Company, one of the world's largest industrial companies, and we are delighted to move our relationship with them to a new level and to have the opportunity to partner with them in this region," QRS chief executive Rick Stokes said.
"The inclusion of the GE Security products in our current aviation and screening product range will drive further sales and profit for QRS in the future."
