SMALL business owners are being asked to make submissions to the Small Business Safeguards Reference Group.
The group has been set up by the Ministry of Fair Trading to examine whether current Federal Government laws provide adequate protection for small business.
The group has released a consultation paper Fair Trading Minister Doug Shave wants small business owners to read.
Mr Shave said the project was part of the WA Government’s commitment to assess the protection small business had from predatory trade practices and anti-competitive behaviour by suppliers.
The study will make findings and recommendations on the effectiveness of the Common-wealth Trade Practices Act and issues arising from business-to-business dealings.
Copies of the consultation paper can be had by calling 9222 0606 or on the net at www.fairtrading.wa.gov.au
