Pride Parade to march on

THE Gay Pride Parade will go ahead from 8pm on October 28, despite the controversy surrounding the Perth City Council’s involvement with the event.

Council has also agreed to pay the march’s organisers the $13,500 it resolved to give in March.

Some Northbridge restaurateurs objected, saying it would disrupt their businesses but others wanted it to start earlier because it would be better for their trade.

The parade starts in the Town of Vincent so that council also has a say in its commencement time.
