Mr Philip Thick has been appointed a Director of the Esperance Port Authority Board.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said that Mr Thick was a former non-executive director with Shell Australia.
"Mr Thick will bring extensive experience in transport, distribution, logistics and occupational health and safety to the board," Ms MacTiernan said.
"His appointment will strengthen the board's capacity to oversight port operations."
The Minister said Mr Thick would fill the position created by the recent resignation of board member Mr Rusty Lee.
"As a local grain producer and former Ravensthorpe Shire President, Mr Lee made a strong contribution to the board, with Esperance being both a grain and minerals port," she said.
"His input was especially valued in regard to the Ravensthorpe Nickel Project proposal to export nickel through Esperance Port in containers."
