Phil Prosser - new chairman of the Aboriginal Cultural Material Committee.

RETIRED public servant and Vietnam war veteran Phil Prosser has been named the new chairman of the Aboriginal Cultural Material Committee.

The committee is a key State advisory body on Aboriginal heritage issues.

Mr Prosser has worked in the public service for more than 20 years in both Commonwealth and State government departments – including a stint as an Aboriginal heritage project officer with the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Department of Indigenous Affairs director general Richard Curry said Mr Prosser had the ability to communicate effectively with both indigenous and non-indigenous people and organisations.
