Perth Airport CEO Graham Muir announced his resignation today, coinciding with the facility's owner Westralia Airports Corp Pty Ltd revealing plans for major review ahead of a replacement being appointed later this year.
Mr Muir has been chief executive of Perth Airport since its privatisation in 1997 and prior to that spent nine years with the Federal Airports Corporation.
Perth Airport is undertaking a review of organisational and management requirements and expects to appoint a new Chief Executive later in the year.
In the period until the appointment of a new chief executive, the current non-executive chairman Mr David Crawford will become executive chairman and a management committee will be established consisting of Richard Gates, Airport general manager, chief financial officer Wayne Ticehurst and Neil Kidd, Property general manager.
Together this team will be responsible for the overall management of the company.
The Perth Airport board of directors have expressed their appreciation to Mr Muir for his contribution to the company since its privatisation and the role he has played in the significant growth of the company over that period.
