Peel deal raises thunderous applause
Mandurah-based Western Australian Football League club Peel Thunder has entered into a three-year sponsorship agreement with Port Bouvard Limited worth at least $300,000.
Under the agreement Port Bouvard:
- Will provide Peel with three blocks of land within its Port Bouvard development. Other lots in the same precinct as Peel’s first lot have been selling for between $190,000 and $440,000; and
- In conjunction with local builder Fielden Homes – another large supporter of the club – build three architecturally-designed homes over three years to be sold on the open market with all profits going to the club. This is expected to yield $100,000 per home.
Port Bouvard and Fielden will also negotiate with suppliers and tradespeople to contribute products or services for the homes at a discount.
To provide the club with certainty in developing the homes, Port Bouvard managing director Ross Neumann will underwrite the agreement for $100,000 a year.
Peel Thunder CEO Phil Clohesy said the agreement would give the club some financial stability.
"We believe this sponsorship will act as a catalyst for a range of goals which the club is working hard to achieve – not the least being to raise our support in the Peel region," he said.
Port Bouvard also has a five-year agreement with Peel to contribute more than $80,000 to its junior development program.
