N M ROTHSCHILD & Sons (Australia) Limited is expanding its Perth banking operations to service a broader range of industries.
In Perth the firm has been only involved in providing finance to the resource industry.
The Perth office was opened in 1987 and has grown from two executives to more than 30 staff.
To spearhead this move the bank has appointed local financier Alan Park, who is joining Rothschild’s Perth office to lead the development of non-resource business in Perth.
Mr Park was the former head of corporate banking and project finance at BankWest and has 25 years experience in the WA market across all sectors.
Rothschild WA director Michael Mulroney said Mr Park had a sound blend of banking credit skills, relevant customer relationships and industry knowledge to the firm.
“We are delighted to be able to attract a banker of Mr Park’s calibre to lead our expansion,” Mr Mulroney said.
“There is a very exciting opportunity to bring to WA the broader banking strengths of Rothschild’s global activities to complement our leadership position in the resources sector.”
Mr Park said the firm’s ability to combine advisory, banking and private equity makes it unique in the local market.
“Rothschild has a long history of involvement with the resources industry and there is an increasing need for the type of innovative financial solutions it is well known for in other industry sectors here in WA,” he said.
