Perth-based Pacific Energy has signed a deal with OM Holdings to acquire and boost capacity of an existing power station at the latter's Bootu Creek manganese mine in the Northern Territory.
Under the deal, Pacific will immediately expand the power station from 1.8 megawatts to three megawatts and subsequent replacement of the power generation capacity early next year.
"The signing of this new 5 year contract to supply electricity to the OM Manganese Bootu Creek Mine increases Pacific Energy's total contracted capacity to 120MW at 13 mines sites around Australia," Pacific managing director Adam Boyd said.
"We are continuing to successfully execute our stated expansion strategy for the KPS business with existing and new clients. The Board of the Company is particularly pleased to partner with the OM Holdings Group and its substantial Bootu Creek mining operations."
