MULTIMEDIA and software developer PIVoD Technologies is hoping to raise $US3 million through a private placement in the US.
The funds will be used to expand PIVoD’s US operations and build on its recent run of success in the museum industry.
The Nedlands-based firm had already raised $US300,000 in seed capital from US investors, who were in Perth last week for a tour of PIVoD’s operations both here and in Melbourne.
Also in Perth was US-based PIVoD director, Oday Lavergne.
Mr Lavergne was previously a director at the Alexandria Museum of Art, but joined PIVoD after its successful work on the high-profile Heart of Spain exhibition.
“Our first opportunity is to bring PIVoD’s good record to museums in the US,” Mr Lavergne said.
He said PIVoD had also been working closely with local governments in the US as part of its expansion.
“It’s going to be a local and regional process and mainly what makes that attractive to the investors is economic development, with the opportunity to create between 50 and 100 high technology jobs,” Mr Lavergne said.
