WA Business News' Daily Business Alerts celebrates its first birthday today, with more than 10,000 subscribers to share the moment.
A year ago to the day, WA Business News went daily with news that down-to-earth building magnate Len Buckeridge had won EPA backing for an controversial quarry expansion, Woodside had awarded a $700 million contract to Transfield and Cazaly Resources had secured UK funding for work on the Shovelanna iron ore tenement which it has since lost to Rio Tinto.
On that day, the Daily Business Alert was seen by only a few thousand subscribers.
Since then, the service has grown from a tiny but loud infant to an active and toothy toddler - going out to over 10,000 subscribers every day, bringing relevant business news to its readers sooner - direct to their desktops.
The stories bring in over 200,000 hits per month, with the top articles representing a mixture of human tragedy, political drama and pure business news - and there has been a lot of these this year.
