Bond joins Stratatel board
Sydney-based IT and telecommunications firm Stratatel has appointed John Bond as a non-executive director, after he increased his stake in the company to 16.33 per cent last week. Mr Bond has been a director of Perth commercial property syndicator Primewest Management since 2000. He is also a director of Martu People, which runs a charitable trust for the Aboriginal people of the Western Dessert. Stratatel has appointed Graham Baillie as chairman to replace Ian Macliver, who remains a director on the board.
Murchison’s Matthews moves to Matilda
Matilda Zircon has appointed former Murchison Metals boss Trevor Matthews as its new chief executive, from May 14. Mr Matthews was chief executive of Murchison from its listing in 2005 until the $325 million sale of its stake in the Oakajee Port and Rail project earlier this year.
Horton, McEniry join AHG board
Former UWA Business School dean Tracey Horton and former Mitsubishi Motors Australia chief executive Robert McEniry have been appointed to the board of Automotive Holdings Group as non-executive directors. Ms Horton is currently a director of Skilled Group and Cullen Wines, and serves as chairperson of D’Orsogna. Mr McEniry has more than 25 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
Prendiville to SJOG
Peter Prendiville has been appointed to the board of St John of God Health Care, replacing Eva Skira who has become a trustee of the Catholic not-for-profit health care provider after 13 years on the board, most recently in the role of deputy chairman. Mr Prendiville is chairman of his family group of companies Prendiville Enterprises, whose portfolio includes Sandalford Wines, Rottnest Hotel and Cottesloe Beach Hotel. He is also deputy chancellor of Notre Dame University and a Tourism WA commissioner.
Dean Smith a Senator
Former Liberal Party adviser and lobbyist Dean Smith has been sworn in as Australia’s newest senator, filling the casual vacancy for Western Australia following the death of Judith Adams. Mr Smith has run lobbying firm Smith & Duda Consulting since 2011, previously worked for Enhance Corporate and Singtel Optus, and is the treasurer of the state Liberal Party.
