Constantine top investment banker
Patersons Securities dealmaker Aaron Constantine has been named Australia’s best investment banker in financial research firm East Coles’ survey of the sector. Mr Constantine, who is an executive director and head of corporate finance at Patersons, rose to the top of the league table from fifth place last year on the back of high regard from clients who took part in the survey. Former UBS Perth executive director Richard Saywell ranked sixth, while Azure managing director Geoff Rasmussen was 19th. Perth-based Macquarie executive director and head of resources, Michael Ashforth, ranked 20th nationally in terms of bankers for mergers and acquisitions, for which Mr Constantine ranked third and Mr Saywell was fourth. Mr Constantine also topped the equity capital markets bankers list.
Downer recruits Sheridan
Engineering and contracting group Downer EDI has appointed John Sheridan as chief operating officer, Downer Australia West, following an internal restructuring. Mr Sheridan was previously managing director of Singapore-listed and Perth-based fabrication and construction contractor AGC-AusGroup. Before that, he spent 16 years at Clough, most recently as CEO of its Indonesian operations.
New Peel development board members
Retired administrator and accountant Geoff Totterdell has been appointed as chairman of the Peel Development Commission board, which plays a role in co-ordinating and leading the development of the Peel region. Mr Totterdell was previously chairman of the Swan River Trust, Dairy Western Australia and the Rottnest Conservation Foundation. Former Optus general manager Mike Ryan has been appointed as deputy chairman. The other new board members are Mark Jeffery, Elizabeth Hoek and Peel local government councillors Rhys Williams and Walter Barrett.
