Westpac appoints Pickard
Ann Pickard has been appointed as a non-executive director of Westpac Banking Corporation, beginning December 1. Ms Pickard is Shell’s country chair for Australia, and based in Perth. She has also been executive vice-president of Royal Dutch Shell’s production operations in Australia since March last year. Before that she was Shell’s regional executive vice-president for sub-Saharan Africa. Ms Pickard has also worked for Exxon-Mobil.
Hamilton, Forbes to Southern Cross
John Hamilton and Peter Forbes have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of engineering contractor Southern Cross Electrical Engineering. Mr Hamilton is currently a non-executive director of Geodynamics and an executive director of Exergen. He was previously director NW Shelf Ventures at Woodside, and has also held senior executive roles at Shell and Liquid Niugini Gas. Mr Forbes is a non-executive director of Macarthur Coal, QIC Private Capital and Cubbie Group. He was previously deputy chief executive and executive general manager, equities of the Queensland Investment Corporation.
Shephard heads UDIA
Amex Corporation director Cameron Shephard has been elected president of the Urban Development Institute of Australia WA, the peak body for all segments of the urban development industry. Mr Shephard has been on the UDIA council since 2001, and vice president since 2009. At Amex, he is responsible for acquisitions, rezonings and business development.
