Board shake-up at Brockman
Brockman Resources has replaced most of its board of directors in the wake of Hong Kong investment house Wah Nam International taking a controlling stake in the WA iron ore junior. Chairman Barry Cusack, managing director Wayne Richards and non-executive directors Ross Ashton and David Nixon have all resigned. They are replaced by Wah Nam chairman Peter Luk as chairman, and Hancock Prospecting director Richard Wright and Alchemy Resources managing director Robert Brierley as non-executive directors. Brockman will also begin searching for a permanent chief executive to succeed acting CEO Colin Paterson.
Tudor confirmed as Horizon head
State electricity provider Horizon Power has appointed Frank Tudor as managing director. Mr Tudor has been acting in the role since the resignation of the inaugural managing director Rod Hayes in December 2010. Mr Tudor joined Horizon Power in 2006 as general manager commercial and strategy, after a long career in the oil and gas industry with BP and Woodside. He is the national chairman and president of the Australia China Business Council, and a UWA lecturer on oil and gas economics and law.
Ockerby wins REIWA award
Robert Ockerby was the recipient of the Kevin Sullivan award at the Real Estate Institute of WA’s Awards for Excellence 2011 event held last week. Mr Ockerby is the director of Ockerby Real Estate, which he started in 1969 and has grown to several offices from Mandurah to Tom Price. He has been a member of REIWA for 41 years, and served as president from 1990-92. The Kevin Sullivan award is the institute’s highest accolade, and is presented to an agent in WA who has demonstrated their values, integrity and desire to give back over a lifetime of achievement.
