Crawford joins Clough board
Engineering and construction company Clough has appointed David Crawford as a non-executive director to the board, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Mike Harding in October 2010. Mr Crawford is currently chairman of Westralia Airports, Canola Breeders WA and HRZ Wheats, a non-executive director of Grainfood Innovations and president of the National Competition Council. Mr Crawford is also chairman of the board of advisers for the Curtin University Graduate School of Business.
Cook, Kay recruited to theatre body
Helen Cook and Max Kay have been appointed for two years to the board of the Perth Theatre Trust, which is responsible for the management of the State Theatre Centre of WA, His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth Concert Hall, Subiaco Arts Centre, Albany Entertainment Centre, and BOCS Ticketing and Marketing. Ms Cook is the national executive director of KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources Group, and was the chair of the Art Gallery of WA from 2006-10. Mr Kay was previously on the PTT board from 2003-07.
WA executive heads Brazil miner
Philip Hopkins has been appointed as the chief executive officer of South American Ferro Metals, the only ASX-listed pure play iron ore producer in Brazil. Mr Hopkins was previously general manager of St Barbara’s Leonora operations in WA. Prior to that, he spent eight years at BHP Billiton in various senior positions, most recently as mine manager of the 50mtpa Yandi iron ore operation. Mr Hopkins, who will continue to be based in Perth, succeeds Stephen Fabian, who will become a non-executive director of SAFM.
