Tremaine heads CPA
Woodside Energy chief financial officer Lawrie Tremaine has been elected as president of CPA Australia’s WA division. The accounting body currently has a membership base of more than 9,400 finance, accounting and business professionals in WA. Mr Tremaine was formerly the head of treasury and taxation and before that chief financial controller at Woodside, Australia’s largest independent oil and gas company. He has previously spent 17 years as head of finance at Alcoa.
Frontbench changes for Labor
Labor leader Eric Ripper (pictured) has announced changes to Labor’s frontbench. Former government minister and new right faction leader Michelle Roberts has been elevated to the role of Treasury spokesperson, at the expense of Ben Wyatt who has been handed her education portfolio. Ms Roberts is also opposition spokesperson for tourism and government accountability. Ken Travers has taken on the role of finance spokesman in addition to keeping his transport portfolio, while John Hyde has been given responsibility for planning in addition to culture and the arts and heritage.
Rowe, Lawford-Wolf to ScreenWest
Peter Rowe and Ningali Lawford-Wolf have joined the ScreenWest board, while media production company WBMC’s chief creative officer Aidan O’Bryan and Quickflix founder and executive director Stephen Langsford have been reappointed, for three years each. Mr Rowe is director of Gryphon Management Australia, a communications consultancy specialising in corporate reputation and stakeholder management. Ms Lawford-Wolf, a Walmajarri, Wangkatjungka and Gooniyandi woman from the Fitzroy Valley area in the Kimberley region, is a renowned theatre and screen actor.
