Kinsella gets top job at MRA
Former Midland Redevelopment Authority boss Kieran Kinsella has been appointed as chief executive of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, succeeding incumbent Tony Morgan. Mr Morgan has been acting in the role since the MRA was formed this year to replace the existing redevelopment authorities in Armadale, East Perth, Midland and Subiaco. It is tasked to deliver some major projects in Perth, including Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link and Riverside. Mr Kinsella has previously held roles at Tourism WA, the Indigenous Land Corporation and the Gascoyne Development Commission.
Horton joins Navitas
Tracey Horton has been appointed as a non-executive director of education services provider Navitas. Ms Horton was most recently Winthrop professor and dean of the University of Western Australia’s Business School. Before this, she held various executive or senior management roles in North America with Bain & Company and across Australia with Poynton and Partners and the Reserve Bank of Australia. Ms Horton is also a director of the Skilled Group, Automotive Holdings Group, Cullen Wines and D’Orsogna.
Whithear heads Insurance Commission
The Insurance Commission of Western Australia has appointed Rod Whithear to replace Vic Evans as managing director. Mr Whithear was previously executive director, strategic policy and evaluation at the WA Department of Treasury. The commission is the sole compulsory third-party insurer for motor vehicle personal injuries in Western Australia.
