New car sales continue to drag in Western Australia, with the latest figures revealing a 7.8 per cent slide in March.
Just more than 9,000 new cars were sold in WA last month, new figures by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries have shown, while the number of cars sold nationally fell 0.5 per cent compared with the previous corresponding period.
Toyota, which consistently sells the most new cars in WA in any given month, reported a 15 per cent fall in sales with 1,747 units sold in March, while Hyundai sales fell 7.7 per cent to 1,036.
Holden sales fell 4.2 per cent with 704 new cars sold, while Ford sales were up 15.5 per cent to 632.
Mazda sold 711 new cars last month, down 8 per cent, while Mitsubishi enjoyed a 45 per cent surge in new car sales with 692 units sold.
Jeep sales plummeted 66.8 per cent in March with just 109 new cars sold.
Audi and BMW kept competition close with 134 and 139 new cars sold respectively, however Audi sales were a 28.8 per cent improvement while BMW’s result was 8.6 per cent poorer.
Ferrari sold its fourth new vehicle for the year last month while Aston Martin and Lamborghini both failed to attract buyers.
