Newsmaker – Debra Goostrey

Former Transport Forum WA chief executive Debra Goostrey has been appointed executive director of the Urban Institute of Australia (UDIA) (WA), commencing May 7. Ms Goostrey held the chief executive role at not-for-profit industry body Transport Forum WA for four years and has extensive experience as an advocate for industry. She is currently state secretary of the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation and is a member of the organisation’s national committee. Ms Goostrey is also a trustee director of TW Superannuation and has held executive roles on a number of training and education councils. She replaces former executive director, Marion Fulker, who held the position from 2002 until January this year, when she was appointed to the role of chief executive at the Committee for Perth.
