BELMONT-based construction firm Diploma Group has announced an agreement with the Department of Housing to develop a $35 million residential and commercial development in Campbell Street, West Perth.
The development is proposed to include at least 75 apartments, ranging in size from one, two, and three bedroom to studio, plus approximately 425 square metres of commercial space.
The Campbell Street project is the second Diploma currently has under way with the Department of Housing in the central business district, joining an $80 million mixed-use apartment and commercial development in Pier Street.
Diploma chief executive Nick Di Latte said the Campbell Street project would deliver an attractive and affordable development in the west end of the CBD.
“In conjunction with JCY Architects, Diploma has developed a concept for the site that maximises the potential of its inner-city location and has a strong focus on sustainability,” Mr Di Latte said in a statement released to the ASX.
“We have evidenced that we are an industry leader in sustainable construction with those combined capabilities having been very important to the Department of Housing when selecting the right project partner.”
Work is expected to begin at Campbell Street in the second half of 2011, with a scheduled completion expected early in 2013.
