New board members at Seven

Seven Group Holdings has announced the appointment of three new independent directors to the company's board.

Joining an expanded board are, Terry Davis, the group managing director Australia for Coca-Cola Amatil, Chris Mackay, the co-founder of Magellan Financial Group, and Richard Uechtritz, who was recently the chief executive for JB Hi-Fi.

The three join current independent directors Peter Ritchie, Professor Murray Wells and Dulcie Boling on an expanded board.

The executive chairman of Seven, Kerry Stokes, made the announcement today.

"We set out to ensure a strong board for Seven," said Mr Stokes.

"Today's appointments add further depth and strength to our company. The calibre of candidates for what was originally proposed to be two new directors was such that we have decided to take the opportunity to bring in an additional independent director and deliver a board on which there are six independent directors out of twelve," he said.

Mr Stokes said the track records of Mr Davis, Mr Mackay and Mr Uechtritz were impressive and he is delighted they have joined Seven.
