PLANS to build two four-storey homes at 39 Mount Street, West Perth have been given council’s blessing – even though the properties breach some council policies.
PLANS to build two four-storey homes at 39 Mount Street, West Perth have been given council’s blessing – even though the properties breach some council policies.
Normally council treads very lightly with applications for Mount Street because residential ire there is easily raised.
In this case, though, there were no complaints received from the owners and occupiers of the adjoining properties to the east and west of the
subject site.
The site is also believed to have been disadvantaged by the construction of the FAI development on the old Emu Brewery site.
The proposal breaches council’s Mount Street Precinct Built Form and Urban Design Study, the Mount Street Design Policy, the City Planning Scheme and the Residential Planning Codes.
A staff note to council said overall, the proposal was considered to demonstrate a desirable built form of a limited scale.
The note said the proposal was generally in accordance with the aims of the policies for the area.
