Perth-based Neptune Marine Services has been awarded a $10 million contract for work on Woodside Petroleum's Pluto liquefied natural gas project.
The announcement is below:
Neptune Marine Services today announced that its specialist fabrication business unit, Link Weld Engineering, has been awarded a contract by Acergy Australia for the fabrication of subsea tie-in spools for Woodside's Pluto LNG Project.
Valued at approximately $10 million, the scope of work involves the fabrication of 31 spools, for both deepwater and shallow water (platform) application, ranging in sizes from 2 inches (piggy backs) to 36 inches. Also included is the fabrication and assembly of associated spreader beams.
Under the scope, Link Weld will assume responsibility for overall project management that includes all aspects of engineering and fabrication encompassing specialised welding, non-destructive testing, gauging, cleaning, hydrotesting, coating, dimensional control surveying and final assembly in preparation for loadout.
Link Weld's General Manager, Nino Amato, said the project award emphasised the company's reputation and depth of capability within the offshore oil and gas industry. Neptune's Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said it further bolstered the Group's position on the back of its recent announcement that revealed new and extended contract work valued at approximately $45 million.
"Importantly, this project also increases our involvement with the Pluto LNG Project given that both our survey and ROV divisions have already been contracted to undertake support works during the jacket installation phase," he revealed.
"Similarly, the timing of the development provides us with visibility for FY2010 as we continue to focus on building our future pipeline of opportunities and associated revenues."
Mr Lange added that the project was indicative of the high levels of bidding activity that continued across Neptune's global operations.
