Navitas secures $21m contracts

Global education services provider Navitas' wholly owned subsidiary, ACL, has won contracts worth a combined $21 million to deliver services in New South Wales over three years.

The contracts are for the delivery of Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program (LLNP).

Under the contracts with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations ACL, which operates within Navitas' English Division, will be the lead agency for the delivery of LLNP services in four Sydney areas and one country NSW region.

The department is currently assessing further information from ACL which could see ACL offered another contract for the Orana Business Service Area in NSW.

Each contract is for a period of three years with extension options for another six years, and will be delivered from 1 July 2010 in consortium with one of Australia's largest community organisations, Mission Australia (for the Sydney regions) and the Riverina Community College (for the region of Sturt).

Navitas English Executive General Manager Helen Zimmerman said the organisation was pleased to have been selected for the NSW market.

"Navitas has extensive experience in the delivery of the LLNP, and related programs, and is pleased to now be preparing to roll out our expertise into Sydney and regional NSW," she said.

"We're also looking forward to building on our strong long-term partnership with Mission Australia, and working with new partner Riverina Community College to support jobseekers to improve their language, literacy and numeracy skills."

Navitas has also advised its contract to deliver the LLNP in the Adelaide region is completed - a contract that will deliver revenues of $3 million.

Navitas is also participating in tender processes for the Adult Migrant English Program and Humanitarian Settlement Services, with outcomes expected in the coming months.
