ONE-sixth of the $600 million Syntroleum natural gas-to-liquids project on the Burrup Peninsular has gone to Clough Engineering.
Clough’s share of the project will begin in the first quarter of 2001. It will be working with the German engineering, procurement and construction contractor of the plant, Tessag INA.
The project is in the definition engineering and costing phase.
Clough managing director Brian Hewitt said the project would be vital to WA and the Pilbara.
The plant will convert WA natural gas into a range of high-margin specialty products including synthetic lubricants used in automobile and industrial machinery, paraffins, drilling fluids and some synthetic fuels.
