Janet Holmes a Court has been named this year?s United Way Philanthropist of the Year in recognition of her significant contribution to the Western Australian community. A major donor to the arts, Ms Holmes a Court is well known for her leadership of private company, Heytesbury, turning around the fortunes of the once struggling group that she began to manage after the death of her husband, Robert Holmes a Court. United Way WA chief executive Sue Dixon said the level of generosity and support Mrs Holmes a Court had given to many not-for-profit organisations was astounding. The award, to be presented on October 15, is awarded annually to people who unite businesses, charities and benevolent institutions
