Former Brownlow medalist and West Coast Eagles general manager Graham Moss has been appointed chief executive officer of the peak body Tourism Council of Western Australia.
Mr Moss, the former CEO of the WA Sports Centre Trust, will assume the role on March 25, vacated by long-serving CEO and well-known tourism identity Ron Buckey.
Mr Moss is well known for his Australian rules football career. After debuting at the Claremont Football Club in 1969, he was being picked up by the Essendon Football Club 1973.
Mr Moss won the best and fairest award for the club three years running form 1974-96, before taking on the captaincy in 1976.
That year he also won the Brownlow medal, the first ever Western Australian to do so.
In his role as CEO of the WA Sports Centre Trust, Mr Moss was responsible for the management of several of Perth's major sporting and event venues including Challenge Stadium, Arena Joondalup and the Kwinana Motorplex.
Mr Moss said he looking forward to meeting with key stakeholders over the coming months and playing a key role in developing the industry.
TCWA president Scott Henderson served as acting CEO while a replacement for Mr Buckey was being sought.
