In addition to sizzling satays, menu highlights include Ayam Rendang (braised chicken in a spicy coconut sauce), Ikan Bakar Bumbu Rujak (grilled whole fish with a spicy tamarind sauce), and Gado-Gado (Indonesian mixed blanched vegetables served with boiled egg, beancurd, crackers and peanut sauce).
Indonesian favourites include Babat Goreng (deep fried marinated tripe served with shrimp paste chilli), Gulai Kambing (braised curry lamb in coconut cream), and Sapi Cah Broccoli (beef stewed with broccoli).

XANADU struck gold with its 1998 merlot at the recent SGIO WA Winemakers’ Awards, winning the title of ‘2000’s Best Merlot’. Xanadu Wines also won a silver medal at the Sheraton Wine Awards. Wine lovers can visit Xanadu’s cellar door and sample its wares during the Margaret River Wine Region Festival, taking place until November 19. Gourmet cheese platters will be available and a selection of classic short films can be enjoyed at Xanadu’s ‘Cinema in the Cellar’. Local band Snakewood Boogie will provide entertainment on November 18 and 19. Keep an eye out for award-winning pastry chef Carmelo Bonanno’s ‘Edible Arts’.

DOME Northbridge is holding free coffee tasting and brewing classes to help you make the perfect cup on November 21 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Coffee lovers will be shown the roasting process and be given tips on grinding and dose, brewing techniques, use of equipment and storage. Coffees to be sampled include Costa Rican, Columbian, Kona, New Guinea, Guatemalan, Kenyan and Ethiopian.

A new menu features mango prawns served sizzling with fresh bread, smoked salmon and pickled ginger salad, and Thai lamb curry with Asian vegetables in an authentic Thai green broth.
Other highlights include Mediterranean chicken bathed in lemon, herbs and spices served warm with a Greek salad, roasted summer vegetable stack (layers of roasted vegetables and vine-ripened tomatoes topped with marinated fetta and drizzled with Napoli sauce).

The chef’s recommended course for $32 per person includes assorted sunomono, fried scallop, salad, assorted tempura, chicken teriyaki with fresh mixed vegetables, assorted sushi, miso soup and dessert with Japanese tea.
