Monadelphous wins $25m Boddington contract

Engineering company Monadelphous Group Ltd has announced that it has secured its first significant electrical and instrumentation contract in the Western Australian resources market.

The company's subsidiary MIE has been awarded a major electrical and instrumentation installation contract associated with the Boddington Gold Mine Expansion Project in Western Australia.

The contract is valued at over $25 million and is scheduled for completion in the first
quarter of 2009.

Monadelphous Group Managing Director, Rob Velletri said that the contract is a significant strategic win for Monadelphous' electrical and instrumentation services company MIE.

"On the back of MIE's highly successful growth in the Queensland market over recent years, the awarding of this contract signals the arrival of MIE as a major player in the electrical and instrumentation market in Western Australia," he said.

"It is also a positive reinforcement of the company's decision to expand MIE's operations into Western Australia, which has boosted our electrical and instrumentation capabilities in the State.

"We are committed to expanding MIE's business in Western Australia and the long pipeline of resource development projects in the State provide us with significant opportunities for growth," added Mr Velletri.
