Applecross engineering contractor Monadelphous Group Ltd has won its largest ever single contract - a $180 million construction project with BHP Billiton.
The 20 month contract is valued at approximately $180 million demonstrates the company's
capabilities to deliver on large-scale structural/mechanical projects.
The project, known as the Asset Development Projects Rapid Growth Project 3 (RGP 3), is for
structural and mechanical works at the Nelson Point and Finucane Island site.
The structural and mechanical works will upgrade the existing port facilities to handle increased
production capacity from BHP Billiton's ongoing iron ore mine expansions.
The upgrade includes the modification of conveyors to boost capacity coupled with the installation of additional conveyors and associated transfers and pipe-work.
It is another significant project for Monadelphous, following several large scale projects announced in recent months.
Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said, "Following on from recent project wins, the
awarding of this contract underpins revenue growth for the construction division for 2007 financial year."
The upgrade will allow BHP Billiton to increase the overall through-put of the Port Hedland facilities to cope with increased demand.
Mr Velletri said the awarding of this contract demonstrates the strength of the company's ongoing
relationship with BHP Billiton.

Monadelphous Group Ltd (ASX:MND) are pleased to announce that the company has been awarded a
major construction project by BHP Billiton.
The contract, valued at approximately $180 million with an expected duration of 20 months, represents
the largest single contract ever awarded to Monadelphous and demonstrates the company's
capabilities to deliver large-scale structural/mechanical projects. It is a significant project for
Monadelphous and follows several large scale project win announcements in recent months. Rob
Velletri, Managing Director of Monadelphous comments, "Following on from recent project wins, the
awarding of this contract underpins revenue growth for the construction division for 2007 financial year."

the provision of ship-loading conveyors on the upgraded Finucane Island wharf.

Mr Velletri said the awarding of this contract demonstrates the strength of the company's ongoing
relationship with BHP Billiton. "Monadelphous has a strong track record in structural, mechanical and
process construction building a solid reputation for delivering quality work. The awarding of this contract
is testimony to that," Mr Velletri said.
Monadelphous is currently involved in the Rapid Growth Project Phase 2, which is due for
commissioning during the June quarter 2006. Site mobilisation for RGP Phase 3, which follows Phase
2, will commence May 2006 with the completion scheduled for the December quarter 2007.
