Perth-born international supermodel Megan Gale arrived in Perth today for a six-day television shoot to promote Western Australia as a world-class holiday destination.
Tourism minister Mark McGowan said the shoot, for Channel 9's Getaway program, would result in four stories about WA being screened during the year in Australia and New Zealand.
The Getaway shoot involving Ms Gale was part of a Celebrity Marketing Program which aimed to cost-effectively boost interest and awareness of WA through personal and trustworthy endorsements.
Mr McGowan said the State Government had provided financial support to assist the Getaway shoot.
"Megan Gale is an excellent ambassador for WA," he said.
The Getaway shoot will include: - swimming with dolphins in Rockingham; - learning to surf in Margaret River; - snorkelling on Rottnest Island; - picnicking in Kings Park; - beach volleyball at Cottesloe Beach; and - the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Fremantle.
Mr McGowan said the State Government had committed $91 million over five years to promote WA.
