McGown steps up to Pioneer Nickel

Former Carmichael Capital Markets executive chairman Craig McGown has been appointed as non-executive chairman of West Perth-based resource company Pioneer Nickel Ltd, as director Reg Gillard steps down.

Mr Gillard's resignation from Pioneer, which he has been with since 2005, follows a decision to reduce his work commitments.

Mr Gillard is also on the board of a number of other resource companies including Aspen Group, Lafayette Mining Ltd and Eneabba Gas Ltd.

Mr McGown is an investment banker with over 35 years experience consulting to companies in Australia and internationally, particularly in the natural resources sector. He is the former Chairman of DJ Carmichael Pty Ltd and will join the corporate advisory business New Holland Capital Pty Ltd. on 3 July, 2008. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Bass Metals Limited and Peel Exploration Limited.
