THE Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) WA branch has announced the winners of the 2003 State Award for Marketing Excellence.
Edith Cowan University (ECU) was a two-time winner at last week’s Western Australian Club cocktail function. Its ‘Breaking the Mould of Uni Marketing’ entry took the honours in the ‘innovation’ category, while its ‘A Commitment to Great Careers’ campaign won the ‘internal marketing’ category.
Others to win awards were:
Department of Health, ‘Go for 2 & 5’ – ‘marketing communications’ category;
BankWest and Market Equity for ‘Bank West Lite MasterCard’ – ‘new product/service launch’ category; and
Mirvac Fini, ‘Sponsors of the Mandurah International Opera Festival’ – ‘sponsorship’ category
Each award recipient gave a short summary of his or her achievements, which provided those at the gala event with a rare insight into what the State’s best marketers are working on.
AMI WA State president Marco Cicchine said the calibre of entrants for the awards reflected the great work being undertaken in WA.
“There was a good balance of private and government company entrants, and all were of outstanding quality, which confirmed the high level of marketing professionalism in WA,” he said.
“All entrants had to suit strict criteria and we looked for the companies ability to achieve tangible results from structured planning and execution.”
The 2003 National Award for Marketing Excellence will be held in Sydney on October 13.
