West Perth-based advertising agency Marketforce has won back the City of Perth's $2 million advertising account, after losing it in 2004 to Northbridge-based Ad Impact Advertising.
Marketforce will now supply campaign advertising for the city for the next three years.
The 2004 decision to award the account to Ad Impact created something of a stir at the time, with councillors on the marketing committee differing in opinion as to the value of the various tender components. Those backing the winning tender highlighted the agency's cost efficiency.

West Perth-based advertising agency Marketforce Ltd has won the contract for City of Perth advertising.
The Council accepted the tender submitted by Marketforce to supply 'campaign' (or non-statutory) advertising for the next three years.
Lord Mayor Dr Peter Nattrass said the appointment came at an exciting time in the city'd development with many projects being implemented or proposed.
"The city offers entertainment, activities and events as well as the best shopping environment in the State," he said.
"We want to make sure that this message gets out to the rest of the State and beyond and to do that effective advertising is a must."
The appointment of Marketforce followed a rigorous tender evaluation process.
The Council took into account the company's considerable experience, processes and expertise in large and relevant advertising accounts and value for money.
The City of Perth has an advertising budget of about $2 million per year.
