MZI Resources and Doral Mineral Sands have signed a processing agreement for heavy mineral concentrate produced at MZI's planned Keysbrook project, south of Perth.
MZI chief executive Trevor Matthews said the agreement marked an important milestone for the project.
The agreement will see Doral process heavy mineral concentrate from the Keysbrook mine at its Picton plant, located 10 kilometres from Bunbury Port.
Products to be produced include a leucoxene product grading 88 per cent titanium, leucoxence 70 per cent titanium and a zircon concentrate at 56 per cent zircon.
Toll treatment charges will be aroudn $65 per tonne, MZI said.
The processing agreement has an initial five-year term, with options to extend it to cover the life of the Keysbrook project.
"This agreement is a major catalyst for Keysbrook and further de-risks the project," MZI chief executive Trevor Matthews said.
"We have already secured other important agreemnts and we are now on the cust of receiving binding offers of finance."
