Lumacom Limited is pleased to advise that Vertigo Group Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, has secured the prestigious design, quality assurance and consulting work for the construction of the world's first Air Conditioned Bus Shelter program which is being installed in Dubai throughout 2007.
Vertigo has been consulting on the project since its inception and has worked extensively with the client to design of the final solution including the supply of prototypes during the development period. Two PRC factories introduced by Vertigo were awarded the supply contracts and Vertigo was successful in securing the $US200,000 design and QA services contract to oversee the quality of the product supplied from the factories in China and to provide design variations where required.
The Dubai Bus Shelter Project is worth over $US10m to supply bus shelters and other street furniture in the municipality. Vertigo anticipates receiving further work on the Dubai project and is now well positioned to market their services throughout the Middle East.
Adam Whitford, one of Vertigo's founders and the business development manager stated "Vertigo has secured a pivotal professional role which will be applicable to any other contracts the client procures. In particular, the client has identified Vertigo's innovative design which balanced aesthetic appeal and functionality as an important element of the project. In order to spread the commercial risk, the client awarded the manufacturing to two specialist metal work factories parties and Vertigo was the obvious choice for the design and QA work."
In addition to the contract in Dubai, Vertigo has received its first order in relation to the Beijing Olympics. The equestrian events are to be held at the Jockey Club in Hong Kong and Vertigo has been appointed by Swiss Timing Limited (Omega) to supply the infrastructure for the first LED panel being used for the event. Vertigo has built a reputation as one of the leading LED specialists in the HK market after successfully completing landmark installations for Louis Vuitton in their HK and Beijing Flagship stores. It was this capability and quality of finish that persuaded Swiss Timing to appoint Vertigo over their traditional European suppliers.
