The entrepreneurial talents of Tony Loxton, founder of Digital Dialogue, were recognised last night when he was named First Amongst Equals in front an audience of 980 people at the 2014 40under40 awards.
Mr Loxton runs a full-service digital marketing agency that specialises in the use of data analytic systems, including the world’s first analytics platform for television advertising and another breakthrough product to measure ‘walk-in traffic’ for retail environments, via Wi-Fi signals.
Founded in 2009, Digital Dialogue has 35 employees who work across three time zones in Perth, Melbourne and New Zealand. It has clients across Australia and has entered the US market.
Mr Loxton was one of numerous digital entrepreneurs honoured last night, highlighting a shift in the economy from resources businesses as the mining boom fades and a new wave of technological development brings productivity improvements to our high-cost environment.
Three finalists were Mark R Wallace of Blue Zoo, Daniel Heredia of Hollywood Private Hospital and Ryan Cole, founder of Savvy Construction.
Other award winners from the 40 were FIFO Families managing director Nicole Ashby, (pictured here receiving the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Community Service Award from Vinnies WA CEO Mark Fitzpatrick); PetRescue founder John Bishop, who won both the City of Perth Strategic Alliance Award and the People’s Choice Award; and WA Council of Social Service CEO Irina Cattalini, who won the University of WA Strategic Alliance Award.
These and the other winners of the 2014 40under40 Awards hosted by Business News were treated to a spectacular evening at the Crown complex in Burswood.
A highlight of the evening was the blistering on-stage performance by Brisbane-based dance crew Swagamama, who came to prominence in television contest 'Australia's Got Talent' last year. Swagamama performed an array of moves that was as entrepreneurial as any of the young business leaders in the audience.
Guests were also treated to a video presentation from Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who gave the awards his support and wished the entrants well.
Many past 40under40 winners were also present, including guest judges Sue Daubney and Grey Egerton-Warburton, and other former First Amongst Equals winners Michelle Ammerer and Bill Beament.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi announced Mr Loxton as the winner. Other notable guests were state Governor Malcolm McCusker and his wife, Tonya. Environment and Heritage Minister Albert Jacob represented the premier, Colin Barnett, while Local Government Minister Tony Simpson also enjoyed the festival of entrepreneurship.
