Fitness fashion retailer Lorna Jane has opened its 17th outlet in Western Australia and its first outside Perth’s metropolitan area, signing a five-year lease at Bunbury Forum Shopping Centre.
The deal was brokered by commercial agency CBRE, on behalf of the shopping centre’s owners, Challenger.
CBRE’s Craig Olde said the deal showed demand was high from retailers to be situated at Bunbury Forum.
“The centre’s established trade base and continued legacy of high turnover statistics were key factors that helped secure Lorna Jane as a tenant,” Mr Olde said.
“In the ongoing battle in the lower South West to maintain market share with expanding retail alternatives, this marks a key win for the centre in confirming its position as the premium retail centre in country WA, despite competition from cheaper, yet less premium and unproven retail alternatives.”
Lorna Jane has more than 120 stores across Australia, continuing its expansion push in WA last year when it opened three new stores.
One of the recent openings was at Floreat Forum Shopping Centre, in another deal brokered by CBRE.
Lorna Jane now has stores in all of Perth’s major shopping centres, as well as outlets in Fremantle, Rockingham, Ocean Keys and Claremont.
