Living with business well rewarded

SMALL training and advisory company Living With Business has won the Emerging Business category in the national Micro Business Awards.

The company, founded by Jan Tekely, Lyn Freeman and Georgette Thomas, works with women and youth in WA and New South Wales.

It helps them get started in business, providing mentoring and small business training and helping them to handle growth.

Recently the firm won a major AusAid project in association with the Hawthorn Institute of Educa-tion to deliver business training in Indonesia.

Following the first Indonesian sessions, the company received official commendations from Aus-Aid, the Australian Consulate in Indonesia and the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperative Development.

Starting in a one room office at Jan Tekely’s home in September 1997, the business grew sufficiently to warrant CBD office space in just five months. It now occupies four offices and a large training room.
