Little World Beverages Ltd, the company behind Little Creatures, has opened its first retail venue on the east coast, showcasing the company's suite of ales and Pipsqueak cider.
The Fremantle-based company opened the Little Creatures Dining Hall on Brunswick St in Fitzroy yesterday, however there are no plans to have multiple venues in Victoria or brew beer on the site.
All beers and ciders will continue to be brewed from the Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle.
Creative Development Manager Miles Hull explains. "The new venue provides us the opportunity to introduce our beers to consumers with our people, in what we think is a wonderful space. The building was originally built as the Fitzroy Stables...moved on to become the Fitzroy Livery and Motor Garage with the arrival of the motor car, and more recently was the HQ for wedding dress designer Mariana Hardwick.
We've tried to keep the working class origins of the building and suburb reflected in the feel of what we are doing".
Open 7 days a week, the LC Dining Hall will serve classic Australian food such as baked pies as well as sharing dishes inspired by favourites from the Fremantle venue. A "little" bottle shop at the front enables takeaway wines and beers.
The venue is open 7 days a week and is managed by Melbourne local boy Ash
Cranston.
