Little World Beverages expansion in the eastern states is beginning to take shape after the company announced it has reached a conditional agreement to purchase a heritage property on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula for $6.38 million.
The heritage-listed Valley Mills property is in the City of Geelong.
In early September, the company behind Little Creatures Beer, which brews at its Fremantle Brewery and in Healesville in Victoria announced it was planning on expanding its operations on the east coast.
In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange today, Little World Beverages said the deal was subject to due diligence which will examine whether it is possible to incorporate brewing production into the existing heritage building structures.
"The company will need to have confidence it can gain all regulatory approvals including local authority and liquor licensing approvals," the statement said.
"The Valley Mills property has wonderful industrial heritage which we would love to reincarnate with what we do and the way we do it," said LWB director Howard Cearns.
"The buildings and spaces within are not dissimilar to the small community breweries of yesteryear, making it a good fit for the 'traditional village' approach we value".
