North Perth accounting practice Kensington Partners has joined Avenir Group, a national affiliation of accounting firms servicing small to medium sized businesses.
Avenir is a home-grown affiliation, in contrast to most of the well-known accounting brands that originated overseas.
Its aim is to bring extra skills and capabilities to each of its member firms.
“The benefits of resource sharing and information sharing are what we are most excited about,” Kensington partner Wayne French said.
He expects the national affiliation will also provide additional opportunities for Kensington staff.
Kensington was established in April when Mr French and Joe Ferrone combined their practices.
Mr Ferrone, who is also chairman of listed irrigation supplier Hugall & Hoile, said the medium to long-term goal of Avenir was to build an Australian-based international affiliation of like-minded accounting firms.
Avenir was initiated two years ago when Sydney firm Holden & Bolster teamed up with practices in Melbourne and Adelaide.
It has since expanded to Brisbane, Singapore and Malaysia and, following the Perth move, is now on the lookout for affiliates in Auckland and Hobart.
Avenir’s national chairman Rob Wernli said he expected the group would have more than 90 staff and total revenue of nearly $10 million in the current financial year.
Kensington contributes three partners and 13 other staff to the national total.
